R-5. One of the more popular transitional patterns with an obverse that is very similar to the adopted 1883 Liberty Nickel and the regular NO CENTS reverse. Struck in nickel with a plain edge.

Vibrant silver-white lustrous surfaces with heavy frost on the design. The strike is needle-sharp and there are only a few very trivial marks. A scarce date with a mintage of just 4,400. This is the only 66+ graded by PCGS with just 4 finer.
