R-6. Regular issue design. Struck in copper on a thick planchet. Plain edge.

R-7. From regular issue dies, but struck in copper with a reeded edge. Superb quality with deeply mirrored fields displaying vivid copper-red color and subtle violet undertones, highlighting its pristine preservation and rich patina. This is the single finest graded at either service regardless of color designation.

Very attractive with bright lustrous surfaces and frosted white design features. Exceptionally clean and attractive for the grade and a coin that looks like it should have garnered a ‘Cameo’ designation. The eye appeal is excellent!

CAC. Rich reddish-brown luster with generous flashes of original mint red, especially around the devices and protected fields. Sharply struck with bold shield details and crisp legends. A high-quality example of the scarcer Small Motto variant from the first year of the series.

CAC. Extremely well struck with beautiful lustrous surfaces that are both mark-free and spot-free. A fair amount of faded red blends with light olive-brown and enhances this coin’s strong eye appeal!
