A pleasing mid-grade example of this scarce date with strong, even silver-gray surfaces and solid detail for the grade. Liberty’s gown folds, shield lines, and star points remain clearly defined, while the reverse eagle shows crisp feathers and a bold mintmark.
Lustrous with a light silvery patina accented by a touch of toning primarily at the borders. The obverse shows strong definition across the intricate six-pointed star on the obverse and throughout the reverse. This is a very attractive example of the only three-cent piece struck at the New Orleans Mint.
