A modest 67,000 struck and, like so many ‘S’ mint coins of this era, the survival rate was very low. This is an attractive example with solid detail, pleasing light gray surfaces, and just a few marks which are consistent with the grade.

CAC. Incredible quality with a bold strike and intense mint luster off ivory-white surfaces that have light peripheral toning. Very nearly flawless with wonderful eye appeal. Just a single coin has graded finer at PCGS.

Well struck with lustrous yellow-gold surfaces and a popular Civil War date. Just 5,000 minted with far fewer high grade survivors than the low mintage dates of the 1880’s.
