Just 6,360 minted and truly scarce in all grades. This is a rare mint state example with bright orange-gold lustrous surfaces and a sharp strike. Attractive and devoid of significant marks with die breaks on the reverse and die clash marks on the obverse. Just 2 coins have graded finer at PCGS.

The U.S. Assay Office was located in San Francisco and was the forerunner of what would become the San Francisco Mint. They struck $10, $20 and $50 gold coins. This beautiful ‘Twenty’ is sharply struck with minimal abrasions and vibrant yellow-gold mint luster.
