CAC. Very sharply struck with choice original surfaces.
Struck in a copper-nickel alloy, this Gem Proof displays rich golden-brown and tan tones with subtle iridescence in the fields. Liberty’s portrait is fully struck, with sharp feather and facial detail, while the reverse wreath is crisp and evenly defined. The proof mirrored finish is fully intact and reflective, elevating this coins excellent eye appeal.
Outstanding for the grade with a needle-sharp strike, displaying frosted devices and proof-like fields. The surfaces show bright vibrant luster and are nearly mark-free. Housed in an old green label holder.
A modest 67,000 struck and, like so many ‘S’ mint coins of this era, the survival rate was very low. This is an attractive example with solid detail, pleasing light gray surfaces, and just a few marks which are consistent with the grade.
