1847-O $10 Liberty. – PCGS AU-50

Well detailed with nice original surfaces.

$2,150.00

1847-O $10 Liberty. – PCGS XF-45

A well detailed and problem-free early ‘O’ mint.

$2,095.00

1848 $2 1/2 Liberty – PCGS AU-50

Scarce and underrated with a mintage of just 6,500. The ’48-C and D bring much higher prices with much higher mintages, 16,788 and 13,771 respectively. This is a pleasing example with strong detail, bright lustrous surfaces, and just a touch of high-point wear.

$3,295.00

1848 $2 1/2 Liberty – PCGS AU-53

Very scarce in any grade with a mere 6,500 minted. This is a choice original coin with solid detail and attractive lustrous surfaces.

$3,995.00

1848 CAL. $2 1/2 Liberty – PCGS AU-58

This rarity is one of the most historically significant coins in American Numismatics. 1,389 pieces were struck from the first shipment of gold received from California after James Marshall discovered gold at Sutter’s Mill on January 24, 1848. “CAL.” was counterstamped on the reverse to signify this fact. They are considered by many numismatists to […]

$89,750.00

1849 Moffat $5 – PCGS. AU-55.

Similar in design to the regular $5 Liberty except Moffat & Co appears on the coronet instead of LIBERTY and the reverse has the legend S.M.V. California Gold replacing UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. This nearly mint state example, of this relatively crude coin, has nice detail and plenty of light yellow-gold luster remaining.

$12,000.00

1849 $5 Norris, Gregg & Norris – NGC MS-61

Plain Edge. The first coiner’s name to appear in California newspapers was Norris, Gregg & Norris and they were very probably the first private company to issue gold in California. These half eagles were struck from 100% California Gold in May of 1849. The present example is sharply struck with semi proof-like fields and has […]

$34,500.00

1849 Half Cent – NGC MS-64 BN

Large Date. C-1. Well struck with glossy chocolate brown surfaces that display a tiny trace of red.

$1,750.00

1849-O Seated Liberty Half Dime – NGC AU-58

A pleasing example of this scarce date with sharp detail and lustrous original toned surfaces. Just a touch of high-point friction keeps this out of a mint state holder. Only 140,000 minted with few high grade survivors.

$2,450.00
