S-266. Early die state without rim cuds. Appropriate detail for the grade with cleaner surfaces than normally seen at this grade level.

Spiked Chin. A spike-like projection juts out from Liberty’s chin on this interesting variety. This is a choice example with sharp detail and problem-free glossy brown surfaces.

14 Star Reverse. An outstanding example of this rare and desirable coin from a low-mintage year. Just 2,827 minted and an estimated 150 to 200 known survivors. This near-mint state specimen displays strong eye appeal with vibrant golden luster and only the slightest signs of friction on the high points of the design.

Just about perfect for the grade with beautiful original surfaces that are problem-free and a pleasing coin-gray. The strike is even and the detail is strong.

The third year quarters were produced at the US Mint with 121,394 struck, which was a huge uptick from the tiny mintages of 1796 and 1804. This is an original and pleasing example with steel-blue and rose toning, and underlying mint luster.
