Intense blazing white luster disturbed just slightly by a tiny sprinkle of gold-tan (peach juice?). The strike is needle-sharp and the frosted portrait of Liberty and the reverse eagle really jump out at the viewer and give this coin tremendous eye appeal. Old green label holder.

The only date in the Half Eagle series that is proof-only with a mintage of just 87 pieces and a survival estimate of 35-40 known. Pieces of any quality are seldom offered.
