Intense blazing white luster disturbed just slightly by a tiny sprinkle of gold-tan (peach juice?). The strike is needle-sharp and the frosted portrait of Liberty and the reverse eagle really jump out at the viewer and give this coin tremendous eye appeal. Old green label holder.
Portrait of Daniel Manning, Secretary of the Treasury, 1885-1887. The allegorical figures represent Agriculture and Industry. Well centered with even wear and a solid look for the grade. Super scarce with only 29 pieces in the Track and Price census.
Sharply struck and very flashy with highly reflective fields and frosted design elements.
A stunning example of this better date with a sharp strike and radiant mint luster over exceptionally nice surfaces. Just 6,000 minted and only 5 have graded finer at NGC.
Beautiful apricot hues shimmer across razor-sharp devices and glowing mirrored fields. Marks associated with the grade are minor and within expectation. The only date in the Half Eagle series that is proof-only with a mintage of just 87 pieces and a survival estimate of 35-40 known. Pieces of any quality are seldom offered.
CAC. Well struck with satiny luster over mark-free surfaces.
A very attractive and flashy proof with frosted design features and a needle-sharp strike. Outstanding for the grade with no significant marks and just minor wispy hairlines. Only 710 minted.
