A challenging date that is particularly tough to find in high grade. This is a beautiful original Gem with a white core that is accented by light toning. The strike is sharp and the surfaces are undisturbed by significant abrasions.

A needle-sharp strike with squared rims and the ‘sandblast’ surfaces expected of a matte proof. Very attractive with a lovely subdued red color and no noteworthy marks.

A very pleasing example of this scarce date with a sharp strike on an issue that often comes poorly struck. Most commonly found in the ‘AU’ grade range, coins at this grade level can be a challenge. Housed in an old green label holder.
