1859 Pattern Half Dollar Judd-238 PCGS PR-64 BN

R-5. Longacre’s “French Head” obverse with Liberty facing right. A ribbon inscribed with LIBERTY drapes across her neck. HALF DOLLAR is within a wreath on the reverse. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. This is a very attractive example with a fair amount of mint red blending with iridescent lavender-brown and lime-green.

Corn Exchange Bank. Desoto. Vignettes include a central detailed scene titled ‘The Mill Door’, a vignette of Ceres at lower left , and female portrait lower right. The inks and paper still retain plenty of brightness.
