Well struck with lustrous yellow-gold surfaces and a popular Civil War date. Just 5,000 minted with far fewer high grade survivors than the low mintage dates of the 1880’s.

Excellent color pops against a background of paper that has only seen light to moderate even wear. Margins are more than ample and nicely balanced. The vignette of President Abraham Lincoln at left is pleasing and quickly catches the eye.

Bold inks stand out against bright premium paper. The full borders are balanced much nicer than one would expect for the grade.

A beautiful virtually new note that exhibits more than ample borders, vivid color, and white paper. Eye appeal is excellent!

Minor Stains. Well inked black design features and a red inked serial number blend nicely with pink paper. The staining is of no significance and not noticeable on the face.

R-5. Similar to the regular issue dies, except the motto GOD OUR TRUST is set directly into the field without a scroll above the eagle. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. This is a lovely example with a gorgeous turquoise tint when tilted under a light.
