1858 $10 Obsolete, Washington, D.C. PMG VF-30

Bank of the District of  Columbia. Very attractive with strong red and black inks and solid paper. Vignettes include a small group, a female portrait, and ‘Justice’. Considered a fraudulent bank and in business less than a year.

1858-D One Dollar Gold Coin PCGS AU-58

Extremely well struck for the date with just slight weakness to the hair on the obverse. The reverse, including the date, is well struck. Both sides are lustrous with choice surfaces that are devoid of significant abrasions. Just 3,477 minted and quite scarce, but fortunately a few nice examples have survived.

There catalog description read, “This collector-grade example shows above-average VF detail and smooth problem-free surfaces. Fantastic quality and nearly blast white with just a very faint champagne hue. The design is heavily frosted and contrasts beautifully against the deep mirrored fields. The surfaces are exceptionally choice with no notable abrasions.

1859 $3 Princess – NGC MS-63

Beautiful yellow-gold luster flows across sharply struck surfaces with only trivial abrasions. Just 15,558 minted which, amazingly, ranks as the ninth highest mintage for the $3 Princess. A tough and desirable example in a tough and desirable series!

1859 Pattern Half Dollar Judd-238 PCGS PR-64 BN

R-5. Longacre’s “French Head” obverse with Liberty facing right. A ribbon inscribed with LIBERTY drapes across her neck. HALF DOLLAR is within a wreath on the reverse. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. This is a very attractive example with a fair amount of mint red blending with iridescent lavender-brown and lime-green.
