Counterfeit. Comment: Spindle Holes. Bank of Auburn. A well done counterfeit on a bank that later became the National Bank of Auburn in 1865. The spindle holes are minor and are of little distraction.
Large 8. Strong detail with choice original surfaces and a trace of remnant luster.
The second rarest Classic Head Half Cent after the proof-only 1831. This is a well detailed coin for the grade with even wear and a choice planchet. Liberty’s portrait remains distinct, with wreath elements and legends bold. The surfaces are chocolate-brown with smooth fields and a pleasing, undisturbed patina. A solid mid-grade example of this scarce […]
Small Date. This coin displays even wear with strong remaining detail. Surfaces exhibit a deep, natural chocolate-brown patina with darker olive and steel-brown undertones. Minor marks and faint surface roughness are typical for early copper and fully consistent with the grade, with no major distractions to eye appeal.
Overton-101a. 50C/UNI. A popular Redbook variety. The engraver misplaced the UNI of UNITED and then placed the denomination over the UNI rather than discarding the expensive die.
E/A. A lustrous light silver-gray example of this popular variety. The remnants of an A are visible under the E of STATES.
Well detailed with pleasing light gray surfaces and die clashing on both sides.
Overton 108a. E/A. A sharply detailed example with strong luster and attractive clean surfaces. The E over A error is clearly visible on the E of STATES on the reverse. Liberty’s curls and the eagle’s feathers retain excellent detail on this high-end AU representative of this popular variety.
