A pleasing New Orleans gold coin with warm honey-gold color and considerable remaining mint luster. The strike is unusually sharp for the issue, with strong detail throughout the hair curls and eagle. Light, even wear and attractive original surfaces combine to give this elusive Southern mint half eagle excellent eye appeal.

Well struck with flashy luster and rich orange-gold surfaces. 1845 is the most common quarter eagle in the 1840’s, but any early date is a prize in mint state.
