Most of the 107,500 coins minted saw circulation, making mint state examples relatively scarce. This coin is one of the nicer survivors with a sharp strike and original lustrous surfaces.

A bright, frosty Mint State survivor of this better date New Orleans Mint Barber Half Dollar. This example displays crisp luster and pleasing surfaces with minimal abrasions for the assigned grade. Attractive and well preserved with strong eye appeal and housed in an old green label holder.

A very scarce date at this grade level and a date that is plagued with soft strikes and a lackluster appearance. This is an exceptionally pleasing example with bright lustrous surfaces that provide strong eye appeal. The strike is well above average for the date.

Thick satiny white luster with a hint of a champagne accent along the outermost edges.

Sharply struck with frosty yellow-gold surfaces. Marks are few and minor with none of significance. While lower mint state grades are readily available, few pieces are available at this grade level or above. Only 4 pieces have graded MS-65 at PCGS and just 3 pieces have graded MS-65+ with nothing finer.
