A well-struck example of the scarcer San Francisco Type 2 issue, displaying strong detail across the Indian’s hair and braid and a bold, fully defined bison on the reverse. Attractive original surfaces with light golden-gray patina and pleasing satiny luster.Â
The second lowest mintage in the series behind the ’11-D with 240,000 struck. However; NGC has graded 54 1914’s as MS-65 and 5 finer while they have graded 80 MS-65 1911-D’s and 6 finer. This is a lovely example with rich satiny luster and a sharp strike.
