A modest 120,000 minted but truly scarce in mint state as all the ‘S’ mint coinage of this era saw heavy circulation. This is a desirable example with lustrous satiny white surfaces that are free from significant abrasions.
Sharply struck with silver-white surfaces that have a light gold hue. Fields with strong mirrors provide excellent contrast for well frosted devices. Only 600 were minted.
Flashy yellow-gold luster radiates across surfaces that are super clean for the grade. The strike is sharp and eye appeal is excellent. A scarce date with a mintage of just 4,850 coins. NGC has graded just 7 coins finer with this being the only MS-63+.

The reverse wreath, enclosing the bold 3 DOLLARS denomination and date, is crisply defined, with rich cartwheel […]

CAC. R-5. Struck in nickel with a plain edge. The obverse design resembles the Three-Cent Nickel but on a regular size nickel planchet. The reverse has a Roman Numeral ‘V’. A wreath encircles the denomination with a scroll at the top with IN GOD WE TRUST. A Maltese cross is above the scroll.
High R-7. Struck in aluminum with a plain edge. The obverse design resembles the Three-Cent Nickel but on a regular size nickel planchet. The reverse has 5 CENTS within a wreath and a tiny IN GOD WE TRUST above. Very scarce and the finest of just 2 graded at PCGS with none seen at NGC.
Flashy with vivid original deep iridescent toning on both sides. Housed in an old pre-barcode holder.
This sharply executed proof displays deeply mirrored fields contrasted by frosted, crisply defined devices, producing strong and visually appealing cameo contrast. Liberty’s seated figure is bold and fully articulated, while the reverse wreath and lettering are razor-sharp with excellent depth. Well-preserved surfaces and balanced toning enhance the overall eye appeal, placing this piece firmly among […]
