CAC. A scarce and beautiful Proof displaying choice surfaces that are mostly mint red with light brown toning. Sharply struck throughout, with crisp star detail, full hair definition, and bold wreath elements on the reverse. Smooth, reflective fields enhance the coin’s eye appeal, while the CAC endorsement confirms its high-end quality for the grade. A lovely […]
Newcomb-38. Very attractive with rich chestnut-brown and mahogany coloration and faint traces of original mint red around protected areas of the reverse. Liberty’s portrait shows sharp central detail, framed by well-defined stars and crisp denticles. The reverse wreath is evenly struck, with excellent definition on the bow and leaf tips. A high-end early copper with […]
Sharply struck with bold design elements including the stars and Liberty’s gown and head. The surfaces are a lustrous silver-white with minor scattered contact marks that are consistent with the grade.
The highest mintage for any Charlotte Mint half eagle at 84,151 coins. Still, most are VF to XF, and nice AU grade 1847-C’s are truly scarce. This is a very desirable example with choice yellow-gold surfaces that retain a fair amount of mint luster.
Attractive light silver-gray toning with strong detail on this scarce New Orleans issue. Liberty’s gown folds and the eagle’s feathers remain well-defined, showing only light high-point wear. A pleasing, original AU example of a popular early O-mint quarter.
A better early New Orleans Mint quarter with solid detail and pleasing surfaces.
Very scarce in any grade with a mere 6,500 minted. This is a choice original coin with solid detail and attractive surfaces that retain considerable mint luster.
Flashy and very nice for the grade with bright luster and a sharp strike. A relatively high mintage of 260,775 but few have survived in high grade.
