Colby/Spinner. Red Back. “a” on Front. Vibrant paper with solid bronzing. A central portrait of General Francis E. Spinner, Treasurer of the United States from 1861 to 1875, whose signature is also featured on several Fractional Currency issues.
Red back Justice. Letter “a” on front. Noted paper pull results in just minor paper disruption.
CC-81. A pleasing note with full borders, good color, bright paper, and a solid signature.
Red and Black Ink. This scarcer of two varieties includes red ink which is also much tougher at this grade level. Bright fresh premium paper, excellent color, and bold signatures combine for fantastic eye appeal! 1
PA-155. Nicely margined with strong black ink and bold signatures and serial number.
PA-156. A beautiful note that blends strong inks, bold signatures and original paper. Only a tight left margin prevents what would surly be a Gem grade.
Extra Fine. Philip “The Brother-Loving” defeated his brother in battle, and was soon defeated by Tigranes of Armenia. Obverse, diademed head right. Reverse, Zeus seated, holding Nike and scepter. Wonderful style, well centered and struck.
