B-1. Incredible quality with a sharp and even strike, mark-free surfaces, and satiny white luster. A single NGC MS-67 coin is all that has graded fine at either service.
Well detailed and problem-free with a pleasing natural coin-gray patina.
Small 9. Strong detail and outstanding for the grade, with pleasing light silver-gray surfaces that retain a trace of luster.
Large 9. A popular overdate with the underlying 8 clearly visible. Well struck for the issue, showing good detail in the curls and eagle. Original silver-gray surfaces with light, even toning and minimal marks for the grade. An appealing Mint State example with strong eye appeal.
Square Base 2. Sharply struck with beautiful surfaces that are velvety smooth with rich greenish-gold luster. Remarkably clean with a glass needed to reveal a few microscopic marks. A coin that seems conservatively graded and has wonderful eye appeal. Very scarce with less than 100 known!
Browning 3, Medium 0. A sharply struck near-Gem with excellent detail in the curls and eagle. Lustrous surfaces show light, even silver-gray toning with attractive golden highlights, and only minor marks consistent with the grade. A very appealing, high-end example of this early quarter type.
Large Date. Solid detail for the grade with attractive problem-free, coin-gray surfaces.
Small Date. A pleasing example that is sharply struck with even, medium steel-gray surfaces, accented by subtle deeper tones in the protected areas, highlighting the design elements attractively. Wear is light and consistent with the grade, confined primarily to the high points, while the fields remain smooth and problem-free.
Sharply struck with choice original surfaces, bathed in a soft silver-gray patina with subtle golden undertones and cartwheel luster gently rolling beneath the fields. A very few minor marks are well within expectations for the grade and do not distract from this coin’s excellent overall eye appeal.
