Date Below. A high end Gem ‘Black Eagle’ that exhibits rich color and bright white premium paper. An early issue in the series with the date below both sets of serial numbers.

A tougher ‘Black Eagle’ issue that displays great color and premium paper with plenty of brightness, and nice embossing.

Black Eagle. Fr. 229a was the first issue where the “Series Of 1899” was placed vertically at the right inside frame line and is the scarcest non-star issue in the series. Nice original bright color with vibrant silk fibers. Very tough in any uncirculated grade.

A well centered beauty with strong inks that blend into brilliant premium paper.  Nicely embossed and wonderful eye appeal!

Very well balanced borders capture bold black and blue inks on the front and intense green ink on the back. The paper is snow white and premium. A liberal scattering of security threads are a delightful sight.

A superb Gem example displaying vibrant golden luster and sharply struck design elements throughout. Liberty’s portrait is boldly defined with crisp hair detail, while the reverse eagle and shield exhibit excellent feather detail and satiny surfaces.

Well centered with vibrant color and bright original paper. Only typical wallet folds prevent a higher grade. A classic note with plenty of eye appeal.

Mule. John Burke Back Plate #1257. A well centered example with great color and bright premium paper. Very few EPQ notes in the VF grades.

A choice near-Gem with a glowing red and mellow brown patina. Strong mint luster enlivens the surfaces, while a crisp strike and minimal marks enhance the coin’s overall eye appeal. Old green label holder.
