The 1855-S is scarcer than its mintage suggests, and attractive, problem-free circulated examples are always in strong collector demand. This coin offers well-balanced, even silver-gray surfaces with strong detail. Both obverse and reverse show even, moderate wear with just minor marks.

The ‘Arrows, No Rays’ Seated Half variety was only struck for two years with this being the only San Francisco Mint issue and by far the lowest mintage of the sub-type. This is an attractive example with solid detail and original toned surfaces.

Well struck with lustrous yellow-gold surfaces. Minimally abraded and wonderful for the grade. Pre-Civil War ‘Fives’ are tough in mint state and this date is no exception.
