Bullion Bank of Washington, DC. Remainder. Beautiful red and black ink on the front and green ink on the back remains strong. Wear is even.
This rare date had a mintage of 92,133, but only around 250 have survived. Many were exported for trade and subsequently melted. This is a sharply detailed example with considerable luster remaining. The surfaces show scattered marks as is typical of ‘Twenties’ from this era, but none are particularly heavy and they are consistent with […]
Well struck with sharply defined details in the hair, feathers and ribbon on the obverse with a bold wreath and shield on the reverse. The surfaces are exceptionally well preserved with strong luster and no significant marks.
Well struck and lustrous with nice original copper-nickel surfaces.
A blast white Superb Gem with strong mirrored fields and crisp, frosted devices creating attractive cameo contrast. Liberty is sharply detailed, with full drapery folds and bold legends. The reverse displays a finely struck wreath and razor-sharp lettering. Surfaces are exceptionally clean as expected for the grade, with excellent eye appeal.
An exceptional Civil War–era Proof displaying deep mirrored fields contrasted by sharply frosted devices, producing strong and visually striking cameo contrast. Outstanding eye appeal and one of the finest survivors from […]
A popular Civil War date and one of the scarcest Philadelphia Mint Type-1 double eagles. This is a well detailed example with original lustrous surfaces.
High R-7. The obverse die is from the Seated Liberty design used for regular-issue coinage in 1863. The reverse features the standard perched eagle motif with the addition of a scroll with the motto IN GOD WE TRUST inscribed. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. None have graded finer at either service.
Excellent color pops against a background of paper that has only seen light to moderate even wear. Margins are more than ample and nicely balanced. The vignette of President Abraham Lincoln at left is pleasing and quickly catches the eye.
