CAC. S.S. Central America. 20A Spiked Shield. Here’s a Gem Type-1 “Twenty” from the S.S. Central America Shipwreck Hoard. It has the special PCGS gold foil label and comes with the elaborate faux book entitled, “America’s Greatest Treasure Ship”. The coin itself has rich orange-gold luster, a great strike and fabulous mint ‘bloom”.
A rare date with a mintage of just 2,521 pieces, of which only an estimated 50–65 are known today. This example shows strong remaining detail with moderate, even wear, complemented by rich orange-gold color and pleasing, original surfaces.
