A modest 120,000 minted but truly scarce in mint state as all the ‘S’ mint coinage of this era saw heavy circulation. This is a desirable example with lustrous satiny white surfaces that are free from significant abrasions.

An exceptional survivor of this better Reconstruction Era half dollar. This coin offers brilliant satiny silver surfaces with strong luster and well-preserved fields. The strike is unusually sharp for the issue, notably on Liberty’s head and the eagle’s feathers – details that are often weak on “S” mint halves of the period.
