Well struck with rich lustrous surfaces that reveal no significant marks.
CAC. R-5. The obverse is similar to the regular issue 1883 Liberty nickel, but UNITED STATES OF AMERICA substitutes for 13 stars around the periphery. The reverse reads 50 N. / 50C. within a wreath of corn and cotton, FIVE above and CENTS is below. Struck in nickel with a plain edge. This is a […]
A breathtakingly beautiful example of this scarce date with swirling satiny luster and delicate iridescent toning near the rims. The strike is strong and crisp, with Liberty’s gown lines and the eagle’s feathers showing razor-sharp definition. The surfaces are exceptionally well-preserved and the eye appeal is outstanding. Just 6 coins have graded finer at PCGS.
Choice original surfaces and solid detail for the grade. A pleasing example of this scarce date which saw just 8,000 coins minted.
CAC. Blazing bright nickel-white luster and a sharp strike with very choice surfaces.

CAC. The second ‘type’ of this first year Liberty Nickel with the word CENTS added to the reverse. This was to discourage the practice of gold plating the No CENTS coins to pass them off as $5 gold coins. This is a beautiful example with choice satiny surfaces and a sharp strike.
CAC. Blast white with light frost on the design and nearly flawless surfaces.
Beautiful satiny white luster and well struck with choice clean surfaces.
