The ‘Arrows, No Rays’ Seated Half variety was only struck for just two years with this being the only San Francisco Mint issue and by far the lowest mintage of the sub-type. This is an attractive example with solid detail and original toned surfaces.

Well struck with lustrous yellow-gold surfaces. Minimally abraded and wonderful for the grade. Pre-Civil War ‘Fives’ are tough in mint state and this date is no exception.

CAC. A cornerstone rarity in American numismatics with approximately 1,500 pieces struck and originally distributed to members of Congress and VIPs to promote the new design. This lightly circulated proof displays an even, medium-tan patina with subtle golden undertones and strong detail for the grade. The surfaces are very attractive and problem-free.
