An incredible example of this rare date with blast white luster. The devices are frosted and contrast beautifully with the mirrored proof-like fields. There are no significant marks or hairlines and the eye appeal is fantastic! Just 4,500 minted and more often seen in the proof format than as a business strike.
High R-7. Regular issue half eagle dies. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. Sharply struck with beautiful reflective reddish-brown surfaces that have iridescent green-blue and ruby tints. Fantastic eye appeal! The finest of 5 known, 2 of which have been gilt. Pictured on USPatterns.com and PCGS CoinFacts. Ex: Kesselman, Bass, Simpson.

Sharply struck with crisp details in the feathers and wreath, and smooth, problem-free surfaces consistent with the high grade. This Gem better date retains considerable mint red intermixed with rich gold and greenish-brown tones on the obverse, and ruby and brown tones on the reverse.
Sharply struck with deep reflective fields and uniform golden-gray patina. An even 1,000 struck which was a fairly hefty mintage for that era.
CAC. A dazzling Gem example as this piece radiates brilliant luster across both sides and is extremely well struck. The frosty surfaces are exceptionally clean for the issue, free from the distracting marks often seen on this issue. The CAC sticker affirms this coin’s premium quality within the grade!
