R-7. Similar to the regular issue Shield Nickel without the ornamental ball at the base of the shield. Stuck in copper with a plain edge. This is well struck and mark-free example with faded red blending with iridescent blue-brown toning.
Vibrant silver-white lustrous surfaces with heavy frost on the design. The strike is needle-sharp and there are only a few very trivial marks. A scarce date with a mintage of just 4,400. This is the only 66+ graded by PCGS with just 4 finer.
