CAC. A desirable Southern gold issue, this piece displays vibrant yellow-gold luster with nice satiny surfaces. The obverse features strong detail in Liberty’s hair and coronet, with only light chatter in the fields, typical for the issue. The reverse eagle is sharply defined, with clean wing feathers, shield lines, and a bold “O” mintmark.
Cream-white luster and a sharp strike with nearly mark-free surfaces.
Well struck and lustrous with a touch of light toning, primarily on the reverse.
Extremely well struck with incredibly intense luster and highly reflective deep mirrored surfaces. A rare and amazing Gem DMPL example of this better date that is tied for the finest graded at PCGS!
CAC. Very attractive with rich, original golden color and attractive cameo contrast between frosted devices and reflective fields. Liberty’s portrait is crisply detailed, while the reverse wreath and denomination are bold and well defined. The surfaces are clean and the eye appeal is outstanding. Just 129 minted.
Sharply struck with superb iridescent chocolate brown surfaces displaying a lavender hue. Even under magnification, we can’t find a single significant mark or spot!
