An exceptional New Orleans Mint issue. This coin features smooth, original surfaces with satiny luster and even silver-gray toning. Both obverse and reverse devices are sharply struck, with Liberty’s gown details and the eagle’s feathers rendered with impressive clarity.

94,940 minted but it likely that none ever circulated in the U.S. They were exported for trade with China and most were subsequently melted in China. PCGS estimates 1,100 have survived in all grades, raw and certified. This is a problem-free AU with light coin-gray surfaces and underlying luster.

CAC. Blast white and extremely flashy with a solid strike and heavy frost on the design.

Farmers and Merchants Bank. Ashland. A lovely note with black ink and large red protectors. A central vignette features a cattle drive. Quite eye appealing!

CAC. A lovely original coin with choice surfaces and sharp detail.

Scarce in any grade with a mintage of 26,000. This is a well detailed pleasing example.

CAC. This Gem example displays outstanding luster, a sharp strike, and smooth fields, with minimal contact marks and excellent preservation. While the obverse has a crisp white appearance, the reverse offers a silver-gray background with a light gold hue and a splash of turquoise toning.

Bank of the District of  Columbia. Very attractive with strong red and black inks and solid paper. Vignettes include a small group, a female portrait, and ‘Justice’. Considered a fraudulent bank and in business less than a year.
