A popular date for type collectors as 1901-S half eagles come sharply struck with extremely flashy mint luster. That is certainly an accurate description of this near-Gem. The surfaces are a bright yellow-gold color with just a few minor ticks.

Well worn but still an attractive example of this rare date. The outline of Liberty and the eagle are visible as is the date, mintmark, and part of the legends.
