Farmers and Merchants Bank. Ashland. A lovely note with black ink and large red protectors. A central vignette features a cattle drive. Quite eye appealing!
A scarce date with a mintage of 30,000 and an estimated survival of just 200 pieces according to PCGS. This is a well detailed pleasing example with bright surfaces that retain some mint luster. There are minor marks as is typical for the grade but none of the heavy marks that tend to plague these […]
Scarce in any grade with a mintage of 26,000. This is a well detailed, pleasing example.
CAC. S.S. Central America. 20A Spiked Shield. Here’s a Gem Type-1 “Twenty” from the S.S. Central America Shipwreck Hoard. It has the special PCGS gold foil label and comes with the elaborate faux book entitled, “America’s Greatest Treasure Ship”. The coin itself has rich orange-gold luster, a great strike and fabulous mint ‘bloom”.
Bank of the District of Columbia. Very attractive with strong red and black inks and solid paper. Vignettes include a small group, a female portrait, and ‘Justice’. Considered a fraudulent bank and in business less than a year.
CAC. R-5. Anthony Paquet’s small flying eagle obverse is paired with an ornamental shield and oak wreath on the reverse. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge.
A scarce and desirable Proof-only issue from the Seated Liberty series with a tiny mintage of just 300 pieces. This example displays mirrored fields and frosty design elements, with attractive originality and strong detail throughout Liberty’s figure and the eagle’s plumage. Light hairlines and handling define the grade, but the coin retains impressive reflectivity and […]
CAC. A choice original coin with sharp detail and beautiful lustrous surfaces that display light golden-gray toning.
Extremely well struck for the date with just slight weakness to the hair on the obverse. The reverse, including the date, is well struck. Both sides are lustrous with choice surfaces that are devoid of significant abrasions. Just 3,477 minted and quite scarce, but fortunately a few nice examples have survived.
