Green Reverse. With Surcharge “O-63”. Bronzed oval framed portrait of George Washington. A bright, problem free note that is well centered for this number. The “O” and the “63” back surcharges are bright and clear. Milt Friedberg traced the earliest appearance of an “O-63” note back to the Harlan P. Smith sale of the R.C. Davis Collection on January 20, 1890. There is some suspicion that Smith created the Fr. 1248 along with Fr. 1310a. A scarce note in any grade.
