Spiked Chin. Cohen-8. The last marriage of the Spiked Chin obverse following Cohen-5, 6, and 7. This is a late die state of this durable die. A ‘Spike’ extends from Liberty’s chin, a ‘tongue’ appears to stick out between her lips, and curved die lines are seen in the field opposite her neck. This is a very well struck example with extremely attractive, lustrous medium brown surfaces. There are just a couple of very minor marks, consistent with the grade, and the eye appeal is excellent.
