A pleasing example of this scarce Dahlonega Mint issue which saw a mintage of just 8,382 coins. This 1850-D  Dollar displays warm, original yellow-gold color with subtle orange undertones and genuine Mint State luster. Liberty’s portrait shows clear central definition, with bold stars and legible dentils framing the obverse. The reverse features a well-defined wreath enclosing the denomination and date, with the D mintmark below. Light contact marks , typical of early gold from the Dahlonega Mint, account for the MS61 designation, yet the overall presentation remains pleasing and problem-free.
