24,000 minted which is relatively high for the series, but few have survived and very few exist in this high of grade. This coin is a desirable early die state variety with a strong date and mintmark. Later die states show clashing and die breaks, particularly on the reverse, which dramatically affect the boldness of the date and mintmark. The overall detail on this coin is excellent and the surfaces are lustrous without the heavy marks that plague this issue. There is just a touch of high point rub and the eye appeal is quite strong.
