A spectacular Gem survivor from the New Orleans Mint, struck with arrows at the date to denote the weight standard adjustment of 1853–1855. This example is sharply struck, with Liberty’s figure, shield, and gown folds fully defined, and the eagle’s feathers on the reverse crisp throughout. The satiny luster glows with soft, satiny brilliance, complemented by natural, original surfaces free of significant marks. Eye appeal is exceptional, placing this piece solidly among the finest survivors of the issue.
