New Series 52. Green patent date April 28, 1863. A scarce Civil War era “greenback” featuring Abraham Lincoln and an allegory of “Art”. Comment: Small Tears. The rich, dark green overprint on the face is particularly well imprinted and the red overprint also displays itself prominently. The reverse has deep green ink color accentuating two large, ornate “X”s as well as ornate guilloche patterns on the back.
