This is a truly exceptional example of this elusive date which saw a mintage of just 4,850 coins. The obverse displays a beautifully frosted portrait of Liberty, her profile sharply struck and set against warm honey-gold proof-like fields. The reverse wreath, enclosing the bold 3 DOLLARS denomination and date, is crisply defined, with rich cartwheel brilliance radiating across both sides. Just 8 coins have graded finer at PCGS.
