A scarce date with a modest 86,400 minted and few mint state survivors. This lovely example exhibits frosty silver-white surfaces, lightly toned with pale gold hues at the edges. The obverse shows Liberty sharply seated with strong definition in the shield lines, drapery folds, and head details. The reverse eagle is crisply rendered, with bold wing and feather definition, and excellent clarity in the shield and talons. As expected for the grade, moderate field chatter and scattered marks are present, yet the overall eye appeal remains strong, aided by vibrant mint luster that radiates across both sides. Importantly, this coin retains its originality and has avoided the cleaning or mishandling so often seen in survivors of this date. Housed in an old green label holder.
