The rarest Carson City Seated Dollar, although the 1871-CC had a lower mintage. Just 2,300 of these 1873-CC dated coins were minted, but only 1,000 were released into circulation and an estimated 200 have survived. This is a very attractive example with moderate, even wear that defines the VF25 grade, with Liberty’s outline and major design elements remaining bold and easily discernible. The reverse eagle retains clear feather detail and a strong shield, while the surfaces on both sides show an attractive light silver-gray patina with minor circulation marks and a pleasing appearance.
