This scarce and desirable Carson City issue displays frosty silver luster with soft golden highlights and sharply defined devices. A touch of turquoise is found at the rim and enhances strong eye appeal. Liberty is well-struck, with crisp details on the shield, gown, and hand. The reverse eagle shows strong feather definition and a bold overall strike. Only 2,300 were minted with an estimated 200 survivors in all grades, raw and certified, according to PCGS. Just two coins have graded finer at PCGS – an MS-64 and MS-65 – with an MS-60 rounding out the population of just 4 coins that have graded mint state at PCGS. A fantastic rarity that we feel privileged to handle a second time!
