A scarce date with a mintage of just 53,600. This is a handsome Mint State example displaying rich, original golden-orange surfaces with soft satiny luster flowing evenly across both sides. Liberty’s portrait is sharply defined with crisp hair detail above the ear and along the coronet. The reverse features a strong eagle with clear feather definition and sharp shield lines. Surface preservation is notably attractive for the grade, with scattered, unobtrusive contact marks typical of the grade, none of which detract from the coin’s pleasing overall eye appeal.  Just 2 MS-64 coins have graded numerically finer at PCGS.
