A scarce final-year Carson City issue with a mintage of 677,000 pieces. A substantial portion of the original mintage remained in government storage and is believed to have been melted under the Pittman Act of 1918, accounting for the date’s much greater scarcity today. Pleasing, even silver-gray surfaces show honest light circulation with no distracting marks, while the strike remains strong with good detail throughout. An attractive, problem-free XF example.
