Plain Back. Fr. 702. A much tougher high denomination. The obverse portrait is that of John J. Knox, a prominate person in the Treasury Department for nearly 22 years. He served as the Comptroller of the Currency from 1872 to 1884. The reverse features an allogorical vignette of two men seated, separated by a shield and eagle. One holds a cornucopia while the other holds a gear, representing Agriculture and Industry. This is a nice example with no real heavy creases, nice original color, and dark signatures.
