A popular note with a central portrait of Jefferson Davis. Pleasing color blends well with a bright appearance.

Palfrey, Captain and ACS, on September 27th, 1861. Three vignettes include a central vignette of Pallas (agriculture) and Ceres (industry), one of George Washington at right, and Justice at left. An attractive early Richmond $50 with great color and premium paper. Three vignettes include a central vignette of Pallas (agriculture) and Ceres (industry), one of George Washington at right, and Justice at left. Signatures are still bold. Borders are nearly fully framed with the upper left corner just shy of the mark. Wonderful eye appeal!
CAC. An incredible piece of Confederate history. Robert Lovett engraved and struck Confederate Cents in 1861 of which 13-16 are known. He then sold the dies to John Haseltine and J. Colvin Randall who struck 55 copper coins before the dies broke. This is one of the better surviving examples with glossy brown and mahogany […]

Taylor, former chief coiner of the New Orleans Mint. Scott overstruck 500 1861-dated halves with the die after planing off the reverses, then paired the […]
CAC. Sharply struck and very flashy with blazing mint luster and spot-free surfaces. A beautiful copper-nickel cent with tremendous eye appeal.
A pleasing example of this scarce Civil War era date with even circulation wear and clear definition of Liberty’s portrait on the obverse. The reverse eagle remains well outlined, with strong legends and mintmark. This piece offers strong eye appeal for the grade with choice problem-free surfaces.
A scarce date with a mintage of 96,000 and the issue saw heavy circulation, resulting in a low survival rate of well circulated coins. In fact, no mint state examples are known. This is an attractive choice Fine with a bold LIBERTY and pleasing natural gray surfaces.
Sharply struck with lustrous white surfaces and just light high-point rub.
