Three vignettes include a central vignette of Pallas (agriculture) and Ceres (industry), one of George Washington at right, and Justice at left. Signatures are still bold. Borders are nearly fully framed with the upper left corner just shy of the mark. Wonderful eye appeal!

An attractive Civil War era half dollar with soft silver-gray surfaces and considerable mint luster. Light, even wear is confined to the highest points, while design details remain well defined on both sides.

A scarce date with a mintage of 96,000 and the issue saw heavy circulation, resulting in a low survival rate of well circulated coins. In fact, no mint state examples are known. This is an attractive choice Fine with a bold LIBERTY and pleasing natural gray surfaces.
