Small Stars Reverse. A better date with a mintage of 15,017 which includes both the large and small star variants. This is a nice original example with strong detail and minimally abraded surfaces.
Small Date, Large Fraction. S-258. Well detailed with choice surfaces that are problem-free and retain a fair amount of mint luster. The obverse is a light reddish-brown while the reverse is medium brown. An arcing die crack at the lower left of the obverse field is diagnostic of the variety.
Plain 4, No Stems. Extremely well struck with bold hair detail and drapery folds on the obverse and sharply detailed leaves on the reverse wreath. C-5. Spiked Chin. R-4. The rarest of the 4 different Spiked Chin varieties. Well detailed and attractive with the dramatic spike coming off Liberty’s chin, plus the reverse has a heavy bisecting die crack with additional peripheral die cracks.
Spiked Chin. Glossy brown surfaces with a fair amount of remnant faded red.
Spiked Chin. A spike-like projection juts out from Liberty’s chin on this interesting variety. This is a choice example with sharp detail and problem-free glossy brown surfaces.
14 Star Reverse. An outstanding example of this rare and desirable coin from a low-mintage year. Just 2,827 minted and an estimated 150 to 200 known survivors. This near-mint state specimen displays strong eye appeal with vibrant golden luster and only the slightest signs of friction on the high points of the design.
